Question 1

What is the Personal Personality Profile?

Accepted Answer

The Personal Personality Profile is a free 15–20 minute personality self-assessment from LER.me® that combines four established frameworks — Big Five (OCEAN), HEXACO Honesty-Humility, VIA Character Strengths, and Schein's Career Anchors — and maps the result to occupations in the U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET database. It returns trait signals, signature strengths, career anchors, stress-pattern flags, and a refined occupation list, alongside your other LER.me® assessment results.

Question 2

Why combine Big Five with HEXACO, VIA, and Schein instead of just Big Five?

Accepted Answer

Each framework adds a kind of signal the others structurally cannot. Big Five gives you trait architecture. HEXACO adds an Honesty-Humility dimension that Big Five misses but that predicts ethical workplace behavior. VIA inverts the lens to identify your top character strengths. Schein anchors what you need work to provide. Combining them produces five distinct signal types, which is more diagnostic than any single model alone.

Question 3

Is this a real personality test?

Accepted Answer

It is a self-report screening tool, not a certified psychometric instrument. No normative sample is used; trait scores are reported as low / moderate / high signal brackets, not percentile scores. The Big Five items are drawn from the public-domain IPIP item bank that underpins the academic literature on personality and job performance, and the HEXACO Honesty-Humility items come from the public HEXACO-PI-R proxy pool. For high-stakes hiring decisions, professionally administered NEO-PI-R or HEXACO-PI-R remain the gold standard.

Question 4

How is this different from the MBTI or four-letter type tests?

Accepted Answer

We deliberately exclude the MBTI and similar type instruments. The peer-reviewed literature on those instruments shows poor test-retest reliability and weak predictive validity for job outcomes; including them would compromise the scientific footing the rest of the assessment is built on. Big Five and HEXACO are continuous, dimensional models with strong empirical backing across cultures and decades — they tell you how much of each trait you have, not which of 16 boxes you fit in.

Question 5

How long does it take and is sign-in required?

Accepted Answer

About 15–20 minutes across 10 screens. A free LER.me® account is required so your results are tied to your profile and saved alongside your other LER.me® assessments, sign-in uses single sign-on (OIDC). The Begin Assessment button only appears once you are signed in.
